CorelDRAW 9 Graphics Suite Items

Below is a more complete list of the graphic applications and supporting utilities in CorelDRAW 9 for those readers not already familiar with the program.

Main Applications

CorelDRAW 9--A vector illustration and page layout program providing a full range of drawing, editing and text tools. It also contains productivity-enhancing utilities for font and media asset management.

Corel PHOTO-PAINT (also available as a standalone product)--A bitmap-based image composition, editing, and creation program used for retouching photographs, adding special effects to images, and creating original raster files. Users can create artistic effects using natural media brushes that mirror the process of painting on textured paper.

Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications 6--It lets developers build custom business solutions by automating and integrating off-the-shelf software applications to meet their specific needs.

Canto Cumulus Desktop LE 4.0--This is a cross-platform media management system that delivers fast, flexible, and powerful digital asset management. It organizes media and graphics files into a catalog which can be indexed so that users can find images, designs, clipart, stock photos, and QuickTime movies quickly and easily, and the application supports over 110 file formats, including Adobe Photoshop and QuarkXPress.

Corel TRACE 9--A bitmap-to-vector tracing utility that converts scanned or manually created bitmap artwork into vector images. It supports several tracing modes including Outline, Centerline or Woodcut. The Optical Character Recognition (OCR) function extracts editable paragraph text from scanned documents.

Corel TEXTURE--You can create simulated natural textures such as clouds, marble and wood by combining up to seven user-defined material layers, defining the interaction between the layers and applying lighting effects. An unlimited variety of custom textures can be created by manipulating the available parameters.

Corel CAPTURE 9--This program is a screen capture utility. It lets users capture on-screen computer images and record on-screen actions as animation files. Users can capture images of the entire screen, individual windows; toolbars, flyout, menus, or any rectangular, elliptical, or freehand area the user defines. Hot keys and preference settings, as well as file destination, name and type can be defined by the user.

Corel SCRIPT--You can use it to develop macros and scripts to automate tasks in the CorelDRAW 9 Graphics Suite.

Corel SCRIPT Editor--This is an OLE 2.0-enabled scripting utility. It lets users modify saved recordings or scripts. Users can employ Corel SCRIPT Editor to edit commands, add commands that cannot be recorded, or write scripts from scratch to automate tasks. It also includes features to test, debug, and run script files.

Bitstream Font Navigator 3.0--This font manager developed by Bitstream Inc. for Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows NT 4.0. It offers a quick and easy way to find and install fonts, organize fonts into manageable groups, and view and print font samples.

Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0--The program allows you to view, navigate, and print PDFs across multiple platforms.

Plug-ins

Filters--The suite includes Adobe Photoshop compatible plug-in filters, such as Digimarc Digital Watermarking and Human Software Squizz!

Libraries and FontsClip Art

Clipart--Includes 25,000 clipart images and symbols, with 10,000 new to CorelDraw 9.

Fonts--Includes 1,000 TrueType and Type 1 fonts, with Euro symbols available for each font family.

Photos--Includes 1,000 high-resolution photos.
